Custom designed coffee table. Reclaimed cypress wood top with zebra wood center accent. White oak base and storage dividers. Custom built steel legs are removable for easier transportation as this is being shipped to a new home in Denver, CO. The client wanted a clean and modern table with open shelf storage for remotes and other small items to keep the top clear. Following a short conversation I designed a few sketches that met the request and built it to the exact size they desired. Recessed shelf dividers and legs, plus an asymmetrical open end give an otherwise bulky table an impression of floating. A small added detail of a hidden compartment was added with magnetic closures in one of the storage compartments. The drawer is accessed with a magnetic drawer pull that hides into the frame of the table. Epoxy filled surface voids and a gloss polyurethane gives a glass-like finish.
