This solid cherry bench was custom made to fit into a small kitchen window space. With two small boys it was important to create a storage solution to keep items hidden while also being safe and durable. This sliding door system has no tracks and recessed hardware eliminating trip hazards and parts that could wear out or break.
From the client:
”Keith consulted closely with us and designed this cabinet + seat to fit perfectly into our kitchen nook. We picked the material (cherry wood) and worked with Keith on the relevant design elements. For example, knowing we have two little boys prone to injuring themselves, Keith used a sliding mechanism that would not pinch their fingers when they inevitably started playing with the doors (that occurred within an hour).
